We meet every Wednesday Morning for group walks that welcome all ages and fitness levels—no pressure, just good company and a chance to enjoy the outdoors together.

Our Before and After School Recreation Program offers an enriching experience for children that combines physical activity, exploration of the great outdoors, and community engagement. Kids will enjoy a variety of fun physical activities to stay healthy and active, explore natural settings to spark a love for nature, and take part in community projects that build responsibility and a sense of belonging.

Starting back up in September, the program runs Monday to Friday throughout the school year.

Come to our pop-up playground for a revolution in play… LOOSE PARTS PLAY!

In an open outdoor space, children will use their imaginations and play with loose parts! Loose parts include: tarps, bungee cords, tires, milk crates, cardboard packaging and more! This type of play is UNSTRUCTURED and RISKY!

Risky play is about discovery and finding out what we are capable of. It shapes us in unexpected ways. We often assume risk is negative but, it does not have to be!  As they begin to play, children are remarkably quite good at mitigating their own risk. They come up with their own rules, negotiate, collaborate and cooperate with other children. Children will have the opportunity to make creative decisions, test their boundaries and limits and learn skills to take into adolescence and adulthood.

At the Loose Parts Playground site, our Summer Recreation Attendant will greet parents and children, orient them of the space and remind them of the expectations to be safe and respectful. Participants can drop in and stay as long as they would like. 

Children MUST be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their play.

Join us walking outdoors (where the group plans routes together) and you’ll have a supportive community to keep you motivated. Poles are available to borrow, so there’s no need to bring your own.

Designed for boys and girls of all skill levels, this program focuses on teaching the fundamental skills of football in a fun, non-contact environment. Players will build confidence, develop teamwork, and learn sportsmanship while putting their skills into action.

Each session includes fundamental skill-building drills followed by game play, allowing participants to grow and improve in a supportive setting.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, this is a great way to stay active, make friends, and enjoy the game of football.

Join us on July 29th in La Salle for our SOCCER BASEBALL TOURNAMENT! Gather your friends to make a team, or come solo to join a team for a fun-filled day! This soccer baseball crossover will follow the style and rules of baseball with kickball instead of batting! 

Each team will get the chance to play all of the other teams and will end in a championship game. There will be 5-8 players per team. Let us know if you're coming with friends and would like to be on a team together. 

Wear runners, a hat, sunscreen and bring along a bagged lunch and LOTS of water! 

This program will run rain or shine!

The $5.00 registration fee includes a bag of chips and a freezie! 

Come join MHRD's ARCHERY CLUB this Summer!

Archery Manitoba will be coaching you through the fundamentals of archery, helping you gain confidence in sports, and most importantly - have FUN! What a great opportunity to learn archery skills, brush up on old skills, interact with others your age and stay active. Each session is expertly guided by instructors trained and certified through the National Coach Certification Program. Registration covers all essential equipment. Join us in mastering the sport of archery!

Ages 9 to 16 and all experience levels are welcomed!

Participants should wear athletic clothes as well as comfortable running shoes.

This program will take place in the Oak Bluff Community School parking lot. 

Join Marci in the park for an exciting 60-minute total body workout. This class combines cardio and strength training to keep you challenged and motivated. With energizing music and a fun atmosphere, get ready to work hard and have a great time.

Remember to bring your dumbbells and a yoga mat for the ultimate workout experience.

In this enchanted program, kids will start by crafting their very own fairy or frog lanterns—glowing jars of imagination filled with twinkling lights, natural treasures, and a sprinkle of fairy dust. Once their lanterns are complete, it’s time for a scavenger hunt adventure, where young explorers will search high and low for clues, nature items, and signs of magical creatures!

This whimsical morning encourages outdoor exploration and a whole lot of fun. All supplies are provided—just bring your sense of wonder and imagination!

We recommend bringing a snack, water bottle, and sunhat, as well as wearing running shoes for games afterwards! 

This program is OUTDOORS—rain or shine, with indoor facility access incase of thunder/lightning or heavy rain.

Join us for a morning full of creativity and crafting on August 19th. Kids will decorate their very own clay flower pots with colorful paints and patterns. Once the pots are ready, it’s time to plant a seed and learn how to care for a growing plant!

This hands-on activity encourages artistic expression, nature appreciation, and responsibility. All materials are provided, and each child will take home their custom-painted pot and planted seed to grow at home!

We recommend bringing a snack, water bottle, and sunhat, as well as wearing running shoes for games afterwards! 

This program is OUTDOORS—rain or shine, with indoor facility access incase of thunder/lightning or heavy rain.

Join us for an afternoon full of creativity and crafting on July 16th! Participants will design their very own seashell necklace, using colorful beads, real shells, and a sprinkle of imagination. Then, it’s time to get hands-on with a clay sculpture craft—perfect for molding mini sea creatures and magical figures. 

This session encourages artistic expression, fine motor skills, and lots of OUTDOOR fun. All crafting materials are provided—just bring your creativity and a smile!
